Dash Fund transferred to the Friends of Windjammer Days
Patricia Royall, executive director of the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce, is pleased to announce the Chamber has officially transferred the Dash Fund to the non-profit organization, Friends of Windjammer Days.
Through the generosity of the late Marion Dash, who had a great love for the Boothbay Harbor region, a fund was established and bequeathed to the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce to help carry on the tradition of Windjammer Days. The Chamber took possession of the Dash Fund in April 2010.
In 2014, the Friends of Windjammer Days was established when it was determined the event was too large for the Chamber to effectively manage. Since that time, the Friends have demonstrated a commitment to sustaining Windjammer Days and it was time to transfer the Fund to their non-profit for the exclusive use of promoting and producing the annual event. The Board of Directors of the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce voted to transfer the funds to the Friends of Windjammer Days in December of 2016. The total amount of the Dash Fund at the time of the transfer was $51,229.00.
