The Adam Ezra Group believes their mission is making music that is “capable of nothing less than changing the world.”

The Boothbay Sea and Science Center’s mission is to inspire individuals to “strengthen themselves and their community through the enjoyment of the sea.”

When the Adam Ezra Group (AEG) takes the stage in East Boothbay on Monday, July 31, it will be in support of a program believing that “everyone deserves a chance to experience and enjoy the water, regardless of financial means.” All proceeds from the concert will go directly to the Boothbay Sea and Science Center.

BSSC is a non-profit program for young people in grades K-12. In its fifth year of operation, BSSC offers a program that opens horizons on marine related vocations and opportunities while collaborating with existing private businesses and non-profit organizations, such as Ocean Point Marina, Bigelow Laboratory, Darling Marine Center, Washburn & Doughty, Rozalia Project, Nathaniel Wilson Sailmaker, Fresh Maine Sea Farm, Paul E. Luke Boatbuilders and many other organizations making BSSC successful. The outcome is a multi-faceted program that embraces and promotes education in a challenging and fun environment.

New to BSSC offerings this season is “Women of the Sea” an integrated two week STEM-based marine biology and sailing program for Maine high school young women. “Women of the Sea” is offered jointly with the Hurricane Island Center for Science and Leadership

For the past year and a half, Adam Ezra, the bands front man, has been writing and collaborating with John Oates of Hall and Oates and recently performing their first co-written song “All I Am.”

The group recently released a new album, “Hurricane Wind,” which speaks to an elemental, overpowering force of nature; a quality AEG believes exists in every human being and can be magnified through the unifying power of music. Adam Ezra also has a non-profit called Rally Sound whose mission is “to inspire communities . . . by helping create and organize socially conscious live music events.” Each year Rally Sound plays benefit concerts raising money for various causes. Rally Sound has raised money for the Greater Boston Food Bank and latter this summer will raise money for homeless veterans.
