BRCTV station manager Cody Mitchell has announced that Bob's Bullpen is coming back to local channel 7.

Mitchell, who has been at the helm of the station since Ryan Leighton's departure in December, said this is just one of a number of exciting new shows that will be coming to BRCTV in hopes of attracting a wider, more diverse audience.

After spending a lot of time over the winter going through the archives at Channel 7, and digitally converting over 20 years’ worth of VHF film with Leighton’s help, Mitchell is putting his energy toward bringing back, and producing, new shows.

He has also made it possible to bring the channel into more living rooms, by creating a BRCTV app. Once only accessible through Time Warner Cable, the channel can be viewed, free, to anyone with the internet and Roku or Apple TV. 

Bob’s Bullpen was first aired in 2000 and shut down in 2008, after its creator, Rick Prose, resigned as station manager. Mitchell described it as “a fun, exciting, humorous and highly interactive talk show hosted by Bob Pascal, who will be joined by his gang of sports fanatics.” Mitchell said it will have a fresh new style and a higher production value.

Larry Brown is one of the producers; regulars will include story teller Tommy Nickerson, David Landry, who Mitchell described as “highly informed,” and “a diverse and interesting cycle of guests brought in to be interviewed and engaged with.”

The show will also feature interactive weekly trivia questions, to be answered by the audience, prerecorded trips to live sports events like the Portland Sea Dogs, and interviews with our own local Seahawk athletes.

Bob’s Bullpen will air on Mondays at 7 p.m. starting Feb. 6, on local channel 7, Roku, Apple TV & www.brctv.org/bobsbullpen.
