Mon, 01/30/2017 - 7:15pm
The Boothbay Harbor footbridge linking downtown with the east side of the harbor will reopen to foot traffic on Jan. 31. The engineering firm overseeing the first phase of the project, Barney Baker of Baker Design Consultants in Freeport informed Town Manager Tom Woodin that the firm has signed off on repairs. The temporary fixes were performed by Chesterfield Associates of Westport Island.
“They did quality work and finished several weeks ahead of time,” said Woodin. Permanent repairs will commence during the Phase II part of the project.
