Commissioners approve snowplow contracts
The Lincoln County Commissioners, in a light meeting, approved a snowplow contract with Steele’s Landscaping, and a couple of purchase orders for ammunition and Net Motion wireless software for cruisers.
The snowplow contract includes the courthouse complex and the Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission. Steele’s Landscaping did the plowing in 2015-16, and came in with the lowest bid at $13,000 for the courthouse complex.
The Commissioners agreed to a two-year plan for NetMotion, which will save the county about $500 over the one-year rate.
Lincoln County EMA’s Tod Hartung said that the county got a Homeland Security grant of $75,111, which covered all the requests the county made except for pagers for Monhegan Island.
Carrie Kipfer, county administrator, said she received information that the State Claims Commission postponed hearings to consider eminent domain takings on five properties for transportation projects. The hearings would be postponed until next spring. Negotiations may render the hearings a moot issue by then, according to Richard Estabrook, clerk of the State Claims Commission.
