Scenes from Blarney Days
The fourth annual Bath Blarney Days Festival was this past weekend, featuring everything from a Shamrock run, to fishermen reciting poetry, to Maine rapper Spose and the grand opening of the 737 Club.
The weekend kicked off at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 14 with “Voices of the Sea,” in which fishermen recited poetry at the Maritime Museum.
On Saturday the day started with the 9 a.m. Shamrock Sprint and at 11 a.m. the parade began on Middle Street before continuing on to Centre and Front streets.
After the parade, there was a tug-o-war competition at City Hall and a soda bread baking contest. Later, there was a pub crawl at the Kennebec Tavern, JR Maxwell, Front Street Public House and Byrnes Irish Pub, and at 9 p.m. at the 737 Club, Ock Cousteau opened for Maine rapper Spose.
