Two construction trucks had an accident April 25 on Route 27, near Adams Pond. Boothbay Fire Department were alerted at 9:15 a.m. According to Deputy Fire Chief Joseph Hall, one of the trucks backed up for a vehicle coming out of a driveway with a trailer, and that first truck punctured the radiator of the truck behind it, causing an antifreeze leak.
Boothbay Region Water District arrived to help contain the spill. The leakage occurred in the dirt and was easily dealt with, said Hall.
“A majority of it was cleaned right up by the construction crew themselves when the truck was towed off.”
