The 24th Leprechaun Leap happened on Monday, March 17 at Hendricks Head beach on a rainy St Patrick’s Day. It was a 50 degrees but the water, at 38 degrees, was the warmest ever.
All the leapers had a blast! We raised for Special Olympics and activities over $3,000. We had prizes for the person who raised the most, Ronda; second place, Anthony; the first leaper, Kaiden; the leaper who submerged second place Esta; and Joey who submerged the most!
We were supported by the Southport Dippers again. They make it look so easy. Many dippers have done all 24 years.
Thanks to Roberta Blaney and her gang, Tom and Sue Witt who have been on board since the beginning and the Southport General Store, Coastal Maine Popcorn, Pier One Pizza, Heads of the Harbor for their donation canisters. Most important is all of you who helped all of us. Thank you for your outpouring of support.
