The Boothbay Harbor police station looked like QVC's Christmas in July sale earlier this month, with long tables piled high with jewelry, knick knacks, dolls and other collectibles recovered during searches of Ronald Fuller’s Crest Avenue residence in April.

Police believe Fuller, 63, of Boothbay Harbor, is responsible for several burglaries in Boothbay Harbor and nearby towns over the last few years.

Fuller was temporarily incarcerated in Missouri until he could be moved back to Maine to face both alleged violation of federal probation and charges related to burglaries in the Midcoast.

On July 22, District of Maine Deputy U.S. Marshal Dean Knightly said Fuller was taken into the Maine Marshal’s custody on May 23 and is currently being held in the Strafford County New Hampshire jail (a federal holding facility), while he awaits trial.

Officers from Boothbay Harbor and Sagahadoc counties and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Offices continue to connect the dots between the burglaries, the suspected burglar and the recovered booty.

Police invited burglary victims in to search for themselves among the copious Fuller collection for items stolen from their homes. While some items taken by police from Fuller’s residence have been identified by burglary victims, it appears there is still much that has not.

Boothbay Harbor Police Chief Bob Hasch said he is unable to release any additional details related to Fuller’s case at this time but expects to be able to do so in the near future. Hasch said the local police department is working with the District Attorney’s office to develop charges in the case as the investigation continues.

Last we reported on Fuller was in early April when he was arrested in Farmington, Mo., along with a stolen 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle convertible and what officers described as a large amount of cash and jewelry.
