New deputy harbor master
The town of Boothbay Harbor has hired two new employees. One is the new deputy harbor master, Mark Warren, and the other is a temporary labor negotiator for the town, Annalee Rosenblatt, who has been hired with a two-year contract. Both hirings took place at the June 24 Boothbay Harbor Board of Selectmen’s meeting.
Warren lives in Edgecomb and has worked for the Maine Warden Service for the past 25 years. Out of four original candidates, Warren was deemed by both Town Manager Tom Woodin and Harbor Master Nick Upham as the best fit for the town.
“The harbor master and deputy are our face to the boating and fishing community,” Board Chairman Bill Hamblen said. “Nick has done a great job and we look forward to that continuing with Mark.”
The board unanimously voted to hire Warren.
Rosenblatt, a consultant who has worked for the town previously, has been hired to assist the town in union contracts. She will also be reviewing policies and manuals regarding town employees. The board voted 4-0 in favor of hiring Rosenblatt, with Hamblen abstaining.
