Woodchucks say thank you
A few weeks ago, the Woodchucks sent out a request for funds to purchase a much-needed dump truck in order to make it easier and more efficient to carry out their mission of providing good seasoned hard wood to families in our region who need help keeping warm in the cold winter months. The folks at the Register were kind enough to put this appeal on the front page of the paper. Not surprisingly, our wonderfully generous community responded within a short time by donating enough funds to purchase this dump truck. It is now registered and fully operational. And so we extend our heart-felt thanks to our community for its generosity in making possible this addition to our equipment as we work to fulfill our mission.
Woodchucks is a program of the Boothbay Region Community Resource Council, a local nonprofit serving low income and vulnerable people on the Boothbay peninsula as they move from being in need to being independent. For more information about the Woodchucks or any of our other programs visit the Boothbay Region Community Resource Council at www.boothbayresources.org. If you or someone you know would like to apply for fuel assistance, including wood, call 633-6272 to speak with one of our Community Navigators.
