Wilson Chapel’s 100th year: Rev. Tom Kerr on July 23
The Reverend Tom Kerr will lead the service at the Wilson Memorial Chapel on Ocean Point on Sunday, July 23. The service is at 9:30 a.m. Nancy Wines-DeWan will be our musician. All are welcome. This year the chapel celebrates its 100th year!
Rev. Kerr graduated from California State University in 1970 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. After traveling with the Continental Singers, he spent a year involved in mission work in Barbados and then served for three years as minister of youth and christian education in Maitland, Florida. After completing his master of divinity at Candler School of Theology, Emory University, Rev. Kerr served eight years in the Florida Conference before transferring to the North Georgia Conference where he served until his retirement in 2009.
Rev. Kerr is currently serving part-time in the East Boothbay United Methodist Church from May through October. He and his wife, Sara, now spend part of the year in Clarkesville, Georgia, and part of the year in East Boothbay where they have shared a home since 2000. The Kerrs have a daughter who lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and a son, daughter-in-law, and two granddaughters who live in Dayton, Ohio.
