The story of the night of Jesus Christ’s birth was played out at the Boothbay Baptist Church Nov. 24 and 25 during the church’s “Journey to Bethlehem” event.
The journey began inside the church where participants were treated to music before heading outside for the guided walking tour as a traveler heading to Bethlehem for the Roman census who discovers the miracle birth of the Messiah. Along the journey, participants met a rabbi, a Roman soldier, a shepherd, and more. Participants were kept warm at the fire pits and were offered hot cocoa, after which they enjoyed a complimentary hot meal inside the Fellowship Hall.
