A fast moving thunderstorm took down a pair of trees in the 600 block of River Road Thursday afternoon, Sept. 12, knocking out power to several homes.
“I never saw anything like it in my life,” said Robert W. Gascoigne, 87, a retired publishing industry executive.
“It knocked down a poplar tree over the power lines and split a maple next to my house,” he said.
Edgecomb firefighters and sheriff's deputies kept the public away from the downed trees and until crews from Central Maine Power could clear the damage and restore power.
