Set For Success Mission Outreach Sunday, July 16
It takes a village of faithful followers to make a difference in the lives of our children.
On Sunday, July 16, the community of churches on the Boothbay peninsula will take part in Set For Success Mission Outreach Sunday. All 13 churches have the Wish List of major school supply needs for our AOS 98 elementary students. Members and friends are invited to bring gifts of school supplies or money to respective churches on Sunday, July 16. Church offices will accept your donations pre July 16.
There are 437 elementary students from grades pre-k through 8th grade. Now in its sixth year, BRCRC’s Set For Success program equips every elementary student with a new backpack and every teacher required school supply and much more.
In 2017, it will cost an average of $87.00 to prepare one student with teacher required school supplies. This amount does not include new shoes, clothing, scientific calculators, ear buds, hair cuts, etc. Set For Success offers all of the above to include a free clothing boutique, a hair salon offering free hair cuts and at least 35 additional event booths offering amazing support from our health community, library, Hannaford Food Court, and so much more.
For the past five years, our community of churches have been the catalyst in building the base for our student needs. Money donations are tax deductible. Cash or checks … made payable to BRCRC, memo line “Set For Success.”
Sponsored by the Boothbay Region Community Resource Council, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Questions? Contact event coordinator, Sue Burge, 350-1581.
