Newcastle Square Vacation Rentals has launched, www.mainecoastcottages.com, a new website that has been updated after a months-long redesign project intended to bring new features to the website and make it compatible with all mobile and desktop devices.

NSVR has been a matchmaker between area cottage and waterfront property owners and vacationers from across the country and overseas for almost 20 years. Much of their business is conducted online. They handle roughly 140 properties and help over 340 families who seek their “classic Maine getaway experience” to enjoy more than 500 vacation weeks in our local area each season.

“This was a very intensive but fun project,” division manager Tanya Blodgett said, who spent roughly 35 hours working closely with a Web design firm to get things just right. “We want a smooth, fast experience for our Internet users on whatever mobile or desktop device they choose, while also providing enough colorful photos of our clients’ properties and relevant features and information. That makes it easier for our renters to focus in on the cottages they are interested in renting.”

The new site provides a mapping feature, a property search function, information for renters and owners, plus an extensive list of area attractions. The company logo has been updated and features a lighthouse image, which is fitting since NSVR is the rental agent for the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, which led to Blodgett being interviewed by a Boston area television station a few years ago.

“NSVR is not the only company in the Cheney Companies Financial Group, and it isn’t the largest,” said owner Dennis Hilton, who also owns Newcastle Square Realty and Cheney Insurance. “But it is an important part of our organization, and our staff provide a valuable service to cottage owners who don’t want to deal with the many hassles of being a short-term landlord."
