Merry and bright
St. Andrews Auxiliary members, along with staff and regular volunteers, came together Dec. 13 to ensure that the holiday season would be merry and bright for the residents of the St. Andrews Gregory Wing.
Jerie Phinney, director of activities, reported that Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived singing carols and ready to pass out gifts. Each of the ladies got a nightgown or pajamas, and the men received sweatpants and T-shirts. Each, in turn, also received socks, hats, body wash, coloring books or word games. According to Phinney, the residents were thrilled with their gifts! Staff, Auxiliary members, and volunteers gave the residents personal attention in opening their gifts. Yummy treats and cider were then enjoyed by all!
The Auxiliary provided funds to purchase gifts and the St. Andrews staff and volunteers put it all together by coordinating the gift list, wrapping the gifts for Santa to distribute, and creating a comfortable party atmosphere complete with delicious goodies to make it a festive event.
