Local businesses to display Health Center raffle prize
The Boothbay Region Health Center at the Meadow Mall has been given the generous gift of a beautiful print by local artist, Dennis Volpe, titled “East Boothbay Dock” with a value of $120. The Health Center will hold a raffle for this print at its second annual Spring Fever Party at the Tugboat Inn on April 18. (You don’t need to be present to win.) Raffle tickets cost $5 each or 3 for $10, and may be purchased in advance.
The artist, Dennis Volpe, has trained as a studio artist and art teacher at U.C. Santa Barbara and Western Washington University. His work consists of oil and watercolor paintings, usually based upon Maine scenes, as well as traditional and hand painted woodcuts. He has been working as a full-time artist since 1998 and is based at the Flying Fox Studio in West Boothbay Harbor.
