Faulty sensor at BRHS
Fri, 04/11/2025 - 12:17pm
A faulty sensor at Boothbay Region High School today at just before noon called for the evacuation of the school by students and staff, according to BRHS athletic director Allan Crocker, who directed the students and staff to walk to the nearby elementary school while fire officials inspected the problem.
"There was no smoke and custodian Tom Dewey told me there was a similar problem at the school last year," said Crocker.
Boothbay Harbor Fire Chief Nick Upham, in a radio communication with Lincoln County Communications, said the department cleared the scene shortly after 1 p.m.
More information on the situation will be forthcoming.
