It’s that time of year again — school may be back in session, but summer is not yet over! 

Boothbay Region Land Trust (BRLT) invites you to come out and enjoy the final weekend of summer at Ovens Mouth Preserve. BRLT’s fifth annual The Great Hike will kick off on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 11am with an invigorating hike, or leisurely stroll if you prefer, through Ovens Mouth East Preserve. Immediately following the hike, enjoy a delicious barbecue lunch, and soak in a few last summer rays while enjoying lawn games, cold beer, and live music on the adjacent farm — all in support of BRLT!

This community building, family-friendly event is perfect for all ages and fitness levels. As usual, kids and adults alike will enjoy exploring and learning through our natural scavenger hunt. Find items along your hike and receive raffle tickets for a chance to win many great prizes from local businesses. Local restaurateur Ralph Smith will provide the eats, while The Spaceheaters will join us again this year to provide the tunes.

Tickets are available for purchase at the Boothbay Region Land Trust office, by calling 633-4818, or online through bbrlt.brownpapertickets.com. Prices are $15/adult advance purchase or $20 if purchased at the event, $5/for children ages 5-12, and children under 5 attend for free.
