Chamber to recognize an outstanding BRHS teacher May 29
The Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the first-ever Boothbay Region High School Outstanding Teacher Award. The winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize and will be announced at the Chamber’s annual Community Awards Dinner on May 29 at Fisherman’s Wharf.
According to Chamber Executive Director Patricia Royall, “The purpose of the Outstanding Teacher Award is to recognize the exceptional work being done by the teachers at Boothbay Region High School. We also hope to raise community awareness about the asset Boothbay High is to our community,” Royall said. “When people contact us about relocating their business or employees to the Boothbay region, the quality of the schools is an important consideration. The programs and results at Boothbay High are selling points, and the teachers make those programs and results happen.”
BRHS Principal Dan Welch expressed gratitude on behalf of his teachers. “Our committed teachers put in great effort during normal school hours and after school supporting their students in academic, artistic, athletic, and community service endeavors. That the Chamber has chosen to recognize one of our outstanding educators is greatly appreciated.”
Nomination forms are available at the high school office and the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce located at 192 Townsend Avenue and may be submitted until April 26.
