Boothbay’s roundabout a real ‘winner’

And the winner is Sargent Construction of Stillwater for the 2017-18 Boothbay Route 27 Corridor Project. The category is Maine’s Associated General Contractors’ selection for best in its Build Maine Awards’ Coastal Highway Division. Sargent representatives and Boothbay municipal and Sebago Technics officials accepted the award April 10 in a ceremony at the Augusta Civic Center.
The $3.3 million project was financed through a state Business Partnership Initiative. Boothbay and local businessman Paul Coulombe each contributed $1.15 million, and Maine Department of Transportation funded $1 million. The project began in spring 2017 and ended in late spring 2018. Sargent was the project contractor. Town of Boothbay was the project manager. Sebago Technics of South Portland, an engineering and land development firm, was Boothbay’s consultant.
