Boothbay Region Land Trust reelects Jim Dun
Longtime volunteer Jim Dun, a year-round resident of Ocean Point, was reelected September 8 to his second term as president of the Boothbay Region Land Trust.
More than 100 members attended the group’s 32nd annual meeting at Sprucewold. In addition to Dun, they also elected Jack Fulmer of East Boothbay as vice president, Ham Meserve of Newagen as treasurer and Merry Knowlton of Newagen as secretary.
The members also added Southport resident Jean Hawley to the board of directors and reelected Southport’s Bill Cullina and Pauline Dion of East Boothbay to each one’s second 3-year term on the board. The members thanked retiring board member Scott Hardwick for his eight years of service.
Meserve told the group that they have been invited to apply for national accreditation status in the spring by the Land Trust Alliance.
Nan Davison, chairman of the current Stewardship Campaign, announced the trust has received $1.75 million of the $3 million goal. Those who donate before the end of the year, up to a total of $250,000, will have their donation matched dollar for dollar, she said.
