Y-Arts presents Fall Choir Concert
Young voices filled the Congregational Church at Boothbay Harbor Wednesday night, Nov. 4 as the Boothbay Region YMCA’s Y-Arts program held its Fall Choir Concert.
Approximately 60 members of the Youth Chorus, Kiddie Choir, Music Theatre Dancers and students of the Voice Studio sang and danced during the 40-minute program.
Under the direction of Emily Mirabile, with help from the older members of the Youth Chorus, the concert started with three songs from the Kiddie Choir. Soloists Mia Eason, Emerson Harris and Alyson Shook then took the stage in front of the packed church.
After a dance number, the Youth Chorus sang three Beatles songs — “When I’m Sixty-Four,” “Blackbird,” and “Here Comes the Sun” — with several soloists singing various parts of the songs.
The Youth Chorus, with soloists, wrapped up the concert with “Side by Side” and “Zip A Dee Doo Dah.”
Mirabile invited all the YMCA Field House on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. for the Y-Arts Christmas Spectacular, a free event featuring more music, including a family sing-a-long, family dance party, food, a raffle and a photo shoot with Santa Claus.
