Y-Arts presents ‘101 Dalmatians KIDS’

The classic Disney production, “101 Dalmatians” was performed by the Boothbay Region Y-Arts group at the Lincoln Theater in Damariscotta on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 4 and 5.

“101 Dalmatians KIDS,” under the direction of Y-Arts Director Emily Mirabile, featured 20 main characters, with about 20 others from the upcoming show, “Madagascar JR.” joining in as additional Dalmatians. A dozen songs highlighted the telling of the story.

According to Music Theatre International’s synopsis, the play has “a high-spirited score and lovable characters, this stage adaptation is certain to charm and delight all audiences. Pet owners, Roger and Anita, live happily in London with their Dalmatians, Pongo and Perdita, stalwart dogs devoted to raising their puppies. Everything is quiet until Anita's former classmate, the monstrous Cruella De Vil, plots to steal the puppies for her new fur coat. The Dalmatians rally all the dogs of London for a daring rescue of the puppies from Cruella and her bumbling henchmen.

The main cast members were Liza Minzer as Cruella De Vil, Ford Harris as Horace, Finn Sullivan as Jasper, Agatha Harris as Lucky, Oscar Mirabile as Patch, Cosmina Finn as Penny, Lily Billings as Pepper, Margaret Reece as Freckles, Sloan Nelson as Sergeant Tibbs/Thunderbolt, Andrew Minzer as Roger, Corinne Rogers as Anita, Flora Duncan as Perdita, Tobias Reynolds as Pongo, Skyler Hyson as Nanny, Hamilton Pierpan as Policeman/Dogs of London and Sarah Harris as Dogcatcher/Dogs of London. Imij Armstead, Scout Martin, Samantha Colby, Jojo Shea were Narrators/Dogs of London, and Anderson Pierpan was a Dogs of London.
