Work on West Harbor Pond syphon underway

Work on installing a new siphon system in West Harbor Pond, replacing the broken 1880 siphon that no longer removes the salt water that enters the pond, began this week.

The West Harbor Pond Watershed Association, on its website and Facebook page, thanked the following for the work done thus far this week on the project: Pat and Kipp Farrin, Mike Doyen, Josh Cook, Kent Berry, Dale Harmon, Jon Ziegra, Taylor Timberlake, Shawn Simmons, Trevor Morin, Weston Alley, and especially the Boothbay Water District, who made this project possible with their hard work and incredible donation of pipe and labor.

The WHPWA raised the money to replace the syphon system through a campaign this past summer.
