Dear Editor:

Rep. Bruce MacDonald has completed his fourth and last term in the Maine legislature. During that time, Bruce has sponsored/co-sponsored 158 legislative items and was most recently serving as the chairman of the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee. We have spent the day with Bruce on more than one occasion, shadowing him to committee meetings, caucuses and legislative sessions. We have seen how much time, patience, knowledge and effort goes into the job of being a representative.

Whether one agrees with Bruce’s positions or not, he deserves the thanks of all of us for giving his best efforts as our representative. As Bruce moves into total retirement, look for him working out at the Y, painting, playing his fiddle, enjoying his boat, and continuing his involvement in community activities. We wish him the best.
