Win a French-themed Valentine basket to support student trip to France
A very excited group of Boothbay Region High School students will embark on the experience of a lifetime during April vacation, when they will travel to France. The group will tour the country for 12 days with their French teacher, Madame Gorey, and visit many places that they have been learning about in French class while practicing their French speaking skills. They will immerse themselves in the French culture, be surrounded by the people, the language, the food, the history and the way of life. They will visit Paris as well as several regions, the Riviera coast along the Mediterranean sea and the Provence countryside in the south, the Loire region and its castles in the west, Normandy and its historic sites in the north!
Students are selling raffle tickets ($1 per ticket or $5 for 6 tickets) to win a Valentine French gift basket valued at over $200.The gift basket includes the following items for a perfect Valentine date plus a catered French dinner and free babysitting.
- Four books on France and French cooking: Say it in French phrase book, Eyewitness guide: Top 10 Paris, A Kitchen in France: A year of cooking in my farmhouse, and La Mère Brazier: The Mother of Modern French Cooking
- French cookies and French chocolates.
- A French candle and decorative items.
- A large picture frame.
- A French film “Chocolat” (with Juliette Binoche) and gourmet popcorn.
- A music CD, “La vie parisienne: great French stars of the '30s and '40s.”
- A coloring book Paris Street Style with 24 colored pencils.
- La Tour Eiffel note cards which matching Cherry blossom hand soap, matching Eiffel tower large mug and matching liquid hand soap with decoration of Eiffel Tower.
- Monet at Home postcard collection of Monet's paintings.
Tickets are on sale at Harbor-Tech and at BRHS. Drawing will be held on Feb. 10.
