Jennifer M. Whitney is Boothbay’s newest school committee member. She defeated Trevor Morin, 181-151, in Monday’s municipal elections, according to Town Clerk Andrea Lowery. Whitney succeeds John Bertolet, who decided not to seek re-election after 24 years of service.

In other election results, all four incumbents won re-election without opposition: Dale Harmon, 280, and Steve Lewis, 275, selectmen; Troy Lewis, 303, Community School District trustee; Nell Tharpe, 333; water district trustee; and Clarence Campbell, III, 327; cemetery district. 

Residents also approved all but one of 35 articles of the $2.4 million municipal budget by substantial margins.
