“The Immortals: The Wonder of the Museo Egizio” - Great Art On Screen – (1 hour, 26 minutes) - With narration by Jeremy Irons, this documentary is a journey among the most beautiful archaeological finds Egypt has left us. Journey inside the secret world of Egyptian mythology, religion and funerary culture, with an interwoven story of the history of the oldest museum in the world, the Museo Egizio in Turin. A journey along the Nile , among the most beautiful archaeological finds Egypt has left us, the magnificent monuments of Giza, Luxor, Karnak, to the Valley of the Kings and the workers’ village of Deir el-Medina, the story follows the tracks of Italian explorers and archaeologists – their itineraries also leading to the exhibition halls of the Cairo Museum, the Ägyptischen Museum in Berlin, the British Museum in London and the Louvre in Paris. Playing for two screenings only, Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. Tickets: $15 adult, $13 member, and $5 youth 18 and under.

“The Zone of Interest” - (PG-13; 1 hour, 46 minutes - in German with English subtitles) -  The commandant of Auschwitz, Rudolf Höss, and his wife Hedwig, strive to build a dream life for their family in a house and garden next to the camp. Starring Sandra Hüller (“Anatomy of a Fall”). Nominated for five Academy Awards: Best Motion Picture of the Year, Best International Feature Film, Best Sound, Best Achievement in Directing, and Best Adapted Screenplay. Other awards and nominations: Cannes Film Festival, 2023 – Grand Prize of the Festival Winner; Golden Globe nominee – Best Motion Picture, Drama, Best Motion Picture, Non-English Speaking, and Best Original Score, Motion Picture. Free - Talking Food in Maine: Ilma Lopez, “James Beard Outstanding Pastry Chef” nominee - This free series of one on one conversations between host Cherie Scott and notable culinary pioneers who have made a substantial contribution to the culinary arts in the state of Maine. Ilm Lopez, a native of Venezuela and veteran of some of the most demanding and rewarding kitchens in the industry, such as DB Bistro, Corton, Tailor, El Bulli, Café Boulud, and Le Bernardin. With a mastery of colors, flavors, textures, and spices—and a seasoned ability to work under pressure—Lopez makes classic dishes her own, with attention to micro-detail and thoughtful twists. For her work, Lopez earned a 2014 StarChefs Coastal New England Rising Star Pastry Chef Award. In 2018, she was chosen as a James Beard Outstanding Pastry Chef semi-finalist for the second year in a row. Recently, she has been featured in the children’s book “Kalamata’s Kitchen” and the Bon Appetite article as “one of the most talented pastry chefs in town.” Free!  Monday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m.  Presented in partnership with King Eider’s Pub, Rising Tide Co-Op, and Your Maine Concierge.

“Giselle” - The Dutch National Ballet -Dutch National Ballet - (2 hours) - The most classic of romances. The narrative of Giselle resonates deeply, with its themes being both timeless and universal. The character of Giselle believes she has discovered her true love in Albrecht, but he harbors secrets, not the least of which is his engagement to someone else. The revelation is too much for Giselle to bear, leading to a tragic outcome. Yet, even in death, her capacity for love and forgiveness remains. This tragic tale of impossible love and betrayal continues to fascinate and move audiences worldwide. Playing for two screenings only, Thursday, Feb. 29 at 7 p.m. and Friday, March 1 at 2 p.m. Tickets: $15 adult, $13 member, and $5 youth 18 and under.
