On Saturday, July 27 at a regularly scheduled meeting, the directors of the Boothbay Harbor Waterfront Preservation Board voted to establish an endowment for future Eastside Waterfront Park maintenance and operation. This fund will contain $500,000 from designated donations, separate and apart from the funds being raised to purchase the property. This new fund is part of the board’s overall plan to not only purchase and develop the park property but also to provide for its long term maintenance and operation. We believe that this is a key factor to insure the park’s long term sustainability.

Meanwhile, our fund balance for purchase of the property stands at $2.1 million to date with a Phase One goal of $3 million by Nov. 1. We encourage anyone who has not yet contributed to the fund to please make a contribution. Every contribution no matter the size is important to this project.
