New Year's Day brought out over 75 chicken wing enthusiasts who were anxious to try the 10 entries for the first only chicken wing contest at Brady's restaurant. Five professional judges were brought in to weigh in on texture, taste, presentation, and overall greatness of the wings the chef's prepared. 

Troy Plummer, board member of the Maine Lobsterman’s Association, was a last-minute substitute to add not only a sensitive pallet,  but the gut of a 20-something-year-old who could eat 30 wings in less than an hour. 

Clayton Pottle was the head referee, providing uniforms and a whistle to keep the bedlam to a minimum. Captain Larry Knapp, and local celebs Jose Rivera and fiancé Billie Jo Bob rounded out the judges. 

At the end of the judging "Super Dave" Warford won not only the judges award but the People's Choice award. 

Trash talking aside, all had an amazing start to 2023 and look forward to the new year and all it has to offer in the way of fun.
