Wall Street or Maine Street
Dear Editor:
It would be a mistake to characterize unenrolled Eliot Cutler as an independent candidate. Mr. Cutler is a special interest lobbyist who represents many of the Wall Street titans. Mr. Cutler, himself a Wall Street baron, has no track record relating the the needs of the average wage earner. Judging from his past, his interests are more aligned with Wall Street than Maine Street.
On the other hand, Mike Michaud punched a time clock for 29 years at a paper mill. He knows what it is like to have to work for a living. He also presided over the state senate at a time when that senate was evenly split, working with both parties to pass a budget and a minimum wage increase.
As a representative, Mike Michaud has consistently stood in the wage earner’s corner, championed legislation aimed at protecting our environment, and fought in support of our veterans. As governor, I am confident that Mike Michaud will continue to put Maine’s working families first.
