Voters approve funding to replace Union Street pump station
At a special district meeting held at the Boothbay Harbor Municipal Building on Jan. 26, Boothbay Harbor Sewer District voters approved grant and loan monies to replace the Union Street pump station and force main.
The question put to the voters read: “Do you favor the Boothbay Harbor Sewer District accepting a loan/grant assistance package from the U.S. Department Of Agriculture Rural Development in the amounts of $450,000 in loan and $150,000 in grant and to authorize the District Trustees to negotiate and issue such bonds or notes and determine the interest thereon, for the purpose of replacing the Union Street Pump Station and force main?”
Twenty-seven district voters unanimously voted yes.
The next Sewer District Trustees meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 5 p.m. at the Boothbay Harbor Sewer District, 27 Sea Street, Boothbay Harbor.
