Dear Editor:

Victoria "Tory" Paxson is a BRHS graduate, the parent of a BRES student, and an engaged and committed community member who cares very much about the future of our schools. I’m writing to express my full support for my friend Tory, who is running for a seat on the School Board.

Tory believes in making smart, responsible decisions that support students, strengthen school programs, and reflect the values of our amazing community. She’s committed to ensuring our schools are places where every child can thrive—and she has the experience and heart to back that up.

I’ve watched Tory dedicate most of her adult life to bringing people together here on the peninsula. Whether it's through the Rotary Club, serving on nonprofit boards, volunteering at local events, or coaching youth soccer, Tory shows up and puts in the work. She knows how important strong schools and strong families are to a vibrant Boothbay.

What sets Tory apart is her balanced, family-focused approach. As a parent, she sees firsthand what our schools are doing well and where there’s room to grow. And as a community member, she knows how crucial responsible budgeting is—she’ll advocate for decisions that voters can support while keeping our students’ best interests front and center.

We need people like Tory on the School Board who listen, lead with care, and believe in the power of local education to shape a brighter future.

The election is May 5, and I hope you’ll join me in voting for Tory.
