    Dear Editor:

While we are not residents of Boothbay Harbor, we have been coming to Boothbay Harbor regularly since 1972, it essentially is our home-away-from-home and we care deeply about the town. We receive the Boothbay Register in our inboxes daily and keep up on the goings on around the Harbor. We have known Mark as a friend and Innkeeper for many years and we can attest to his integrity, intelligence and commitment to this village.

In the many years we have been vacationing in Boothbay Harbor (2-3 times a year) we have noticed many changes, as would be expected. However; the one change that worries us, is the lack of police presence. We never worried about walking around the town late at night but now we do. As the Boothbay Register reports, the number of “problems” reported seems to be increasing. It is obvious that more officers should be hired, and Mark is dedicated to increasing the size of the police force to protect the citizens of and visitors to the village he cares so deeply about.

One of the reasons we love Boothbay Harbor is because it is still a working fishing village and it is important to us that it remains so and continues to honor its cultural heritage of lobstering. We know Mark feels the same way and he would work to maintain this uniqueness.

In closing, please vote for Mark Osborn. He is dedicated to everything Boothbay Harbor and would continue to work to preserve all that makes Boothbay Harbor so very special to those that live there and to those of us who wish we did.
