Dear Editor:

To my fellow “year rounders,” in my opinion, few persons are as invested in the future economic health as well as the historical roots of Boothbay Harbor than Mark Gimbel. His commitment over decades to numerous civic organizations such as our Chamber or Commerce, Windjammer Days, honoring and supporting women (and men) who have made significant contributions to the character of our Harbor. For over 50 years Mark and his wife Dianne have owned and operated Gimbel & Sons Country Store, The Smiling Cow and more recently the Loft and The Emporium in the heart of Boothbay Harbor. For years many have affectionately referred to him as “Mayor” and I will eagerly cast my vote for Mark Gimbel for our Select Board.  I hope you will too.
