The Y Arts Itty Bitty Broadway Performers made their debut Aug. 27 in a production of “Winnie the Pooh” in the Boothbay Region YMCA gym. Fifty or so family and friends were in the audience.

Making their debut were Lily Billings as Pooh, Finn Sullivan as Christopher Robin, Willa Fox as Rabbit, Arlo Aeppli as Roo, Nora Aeppli as Kanga, Laila Lufkin as Owl, Oscar Mirabile as Tigger, James Freed as Eeyore, Agatha Harris as Piglet; and the Narrator Bees: Jojo Shea, Scout Martin and Sarah Harris.

In this 15-minute show,  Pooh Bear meets all his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood while he searches for his favorite food, but none of them have any honey.  The trio of singing, dancing and narrating Bees bring a note to Pooh and the gang that says Christopher Robin has been kidnapped by the dreaded Backson!

Boothbay Region YMCA Arts & Humanities Director Emily Mirabile directed and choreographed the show. “We actually wrote it on Monday night after we saw what each kid was able to do at the first rehearsal,” said Mirabile. “The songs were all from classic Pooh stories.

The actors portraying Pooh and company, between 4 and 6 years old, were a delight!
