Updated: Homecoming week starts Oct. 11
There will be a lot of cheering and happiness at Boothbay Region High School beginning Tuesday, Oct. 11 when the students return to school from the long weekend and Homecoming week begins.
There will be four dress-up days Tuesday through Friday, games/races on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and the many events in between before the weekend ends with a dance on Saturday evening, Oct. 15.
The dress-up days are as follows: Tuesday, Pajama Day; Wednesday, 'merica Day; Thursday, Theme Day (Hallway and Float decoration themes of individual classes); and Friday, Blue and Gold Day.
The girls soccer and field hockey teams will have their final regular season games at home on Wednesday, Oct. 12, with senior players to be honored at each contest. The soccer team will face Lisbon at 6:30 p.m. under the lights at Sherman Field and the field hockey team will face Telstar at 3:30 p.m. at Perkins Field, BRHS.
The Homecoming parade and bonfire will be held Thursday evening, Oct. 13. The parade from downtown to the high school will start at approximately 5:30 p.m., while the bonfire will start after all of the floats arrive and are unloaded at the school (approx. 6:15 p.m.).
A pep rally, with team dances and contests, will be held on Friday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. at the school.
The football team will host the Telstar Rebels on Sherman Field on Friday. UPDATED: Festivities will begin at 6:15 p.m. when the seniors on the football team and the cross-country team will be honored. The Homecoming dance will be held Saturday night, Oct. 15.
