UPDATE: The search for Glenn Murdoch, 63, of Bremen was suspended at 6 p.m. Tuesday and was set to resume at 8 a.m. Wednesday with divers, Maine Marine Patrol vessels and an airplane, Maine Marine Patrol Spokesman Jeff Nichols said Tuesday night.

Nichols was misquoted earlier as stating Murdoch was a lobsterman. “He’s not listed in our database of licensed fishermen,” Nichols said.

Original post: The Maine Marine Patrol-Maine State Police dive team is searching Round Pond Harbor Tuesday morning for a lobsterman whose skiff was found adrift Monday, Maine Marine Patrol Spokesman Jeff Nichols said.

In a phone interview, Nichols said the agency, the U.S. Coast Guard and Bristol Fire Department searched for the 63-year-old Bremen man about four hours by land and water until about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. The dive team began its search at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Nichols said. A Maine Marine Patrol plane may also join the search, he said.

The missing man’s name was not being released yet.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Nicole Groll in Boston said the Coast Guard station in Boothbay Harbor took part in Monday night’s search. Asked if the Coast Guard will be back looking, she said, “If Maine Marine Patrol requests it, we will do whatever we can.”
