The Ice Rink committee in Boothbay is circulating a petition to ask that the Clifford Park renovations committee include plans for a permanent ice rink on the Back River Road property.

Update: Committee member Kevin Anthony said Wednesday morning, Dec. 29 that the petitions are located at “ Good ’N You Mobile station, Hammond Lumber (see AJ) in Boothbay Harbor, Eve Conlin or myself. More places coming.”

The Ice Rink committee is hoping for a roofed concrete slab with the potential for future refrigeration of the ice, according to committee member Eve Jamieson.

“The space could be used in many ways off-season, such as basketball courts, farmers market and craft fairs,” said Jamieson in a message to the newspaper.

The petition is being circulated via Jamieson’s Facebook page and by various committee members. The petition reads “We, the undersigned, petition the Town of Boothbay to include space for a covered ice rink in the new Clifford Playground plan.”
