Understanding the allure of mail-ins

Dear Editor:

Fixing elections has now become an art form, with six obvious but subtle signs to look for in America’s current mostly fair election process.

Too many voters - You never get a high percentage turnout in an honest election, simply because electoral registers are not even close to being up-to-date.

A high turnout in specific areas - Could one particular area, or one individual polling station, have a 90% turnout, while most other areas register less than 70%? No, never.

Large numbers of invalid mail-ins - Happens when officials disqualify ballots for the slightest imperfection, even when the voter's intention is perfectly clear, in an attempt to depress votes for their opponents.

More votes than mail-ins issued - Filling ballot boxes with more ballots than were issued by polling staff is known as “stuffing.” 2000 Mules, anyone?

Results that don't match - Mobile phones have made elections much more transparent, but this transparency only works if the official results include figures for individual counting centers. Don’t hold your breath.

Delay in announcing results -  Witness the power of mail-in ballots, as the GOP House margin evaporated after votes came in long after election day from deep blue Oregon, Washington, and California, as well as from cities that take longer to count ballots.

Question: how does the GOP win the popular vote, and still underperform against all expectations, except in Florida?

Answer: all of the above, which did not happen in Florida.
