Two local girls studying abroad in Cork, Ireland
Nicole LaBrecque, a sophomore at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut, will be leaving for Dublin, Ireland on Jan. 9 with a group of fellow students from Quinnipiac. She will then travel to Cork, Ireland to settle into her new dorm at University College Cork.
Nicole is enrolled in the physical therapy program at Quinnipiac. She will be taking on a full course load of physical therapy classes in Cork, and will be there until May 14. Nicole is the daughter of Kevin and Mindy LaBrecque of Southport and a BRHS graduate of 2015. Nicole worked hard all summer long holding several jobs in the region to save money for her Ireland study abroad program.
Joining Nicole at University College Cork is fellow BRHS graduate, Hannah Winslow. Hannah is the daughter of Kate Winslow of Boothbay and Keith Lorentsen of North Yarmouth. Hannah is a 2014 BRHS graduate. She attends the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Massachusetts. Hannah is studying legal studies with a minor in psychology. While working together at Newagen Inn this summer, Nicole and Hannah discovered they would be attending the same college in Ireland at the same time.
Nicole and Hannah will be meeting on their new campus as soon as they both arrive in Cork, Ireland.
