Two local students were named to the dean's list at Bates College for the semester ending in April 2015. This is a distinction earned by students whose cumulative grade point average is 3.71 or higher.

On the list was Carolyn MacDonald, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott MacDonald of Newcastle. She is a 2012 graduate of Lincoln Academy. She is majoring in biology at Bates.

Samuel Levin, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred R. Levin of Boothbay, is a 2014 graduate of The Gunnery, and also made the dean’s list.
