Truth

    Dear Editor:

Let's start with one truth. The article that is quoted in “Parents must revolt” (Letters, 3/30) is from Maine Wire. According to AllSides, Maine Wire has a far-right bias. AllSides™ is a media solutions company that strengthens our democratic society with balanced news, media bias ratings, and diverse perspectives.

My absolute favorite line in the editorial was “DEI, SEL, CRT and Gender Fluidity as necromancy.”

Social-emotional learning (SEL) teaches students how to manage their emotions, how to make good decisions, how to collaborate and how to understand themselves and others better. I'm guessing that Mr. Gregg doesn't want our kids to be able to get along with others or make good decisions!

Teaching for diversity refers to acknowledging a range of differences in the classroom. Teaching for inclusion signifies embracing difference. Teaching for equity allows the differences to transform the way we think, teach, learn and act such that all experiences and ways of being are handled with fairness and justice. (DEI) Again, heaven forbid we should have fairness or justice!

As a retired Maine school counselor, I can assure you that no one in my school practiced communicating with the dead, especially in order to predict the future. (necromancy)

So from what I can tell, Mr. Gregg doesn't want our kids to get along, make good choices, or be fair. I'm sorry the world isn't the way you want it to be but you shouldn't put your fears on everyone else. You can't control everything!
