letter to the editor
Truth seems to be working well

Dear Editor:
On Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, at a joint meeting of the C.S.D. Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees, the Joint Boards voted to determine whether the C.S.D. Board and Board of Trustees are in favor of proceeding with the Concept Design Phase of the Pre-K through 12 Consolidated School Construction Project.
This was subject to the acceptance of an Unconditional “Gift” in an amount no less than the estimated cost of the Concept Design Phase.
Vote #2 was to establish a Building Committee.
Vote #3, to hold a C.S.D.-wide Voter Referendum after completion of the Concept Design Phase.
The Aug. 25, 2021 vote was initially written as accepting $2.5 million in Conditional Donations.
In Public Comment, Tom Perkins stated that the motions stayed as unconditional gifts, which was the intent from the beginning.
The two Boards revised the initial Vote to “Motion to accept $2.5 million in Unconditional Donations from Benefactors to Fund Phase II of the Concept Design Phase.” All of this is in the Meeting Minutes, but it would require the reading of the entire Meeting Minutes.
I’ve said many times in the past and will continue in the future, the Board has absolutely no reason to lie to the public. The truth seems to be working just as well.
You can continue to spread “Best Guesses and Stellar Research” and you are entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts.
There is no reason to expect a retraction of your comments because I am sure that somehow this is the Board’s fault.
Again, I chose to respond with a “Letter to the Editor” for perfect “transparency” to my wonderful Pen Pal.
Steven Lorrain
Chairman
Board of Trustees
