Tree breaks wires in East Boothbay

UPDATE: Traffic was cleared to pass at 10:49 a.m.
A tree fell and broke wires on Route 96 near the village in East Boothbay Thursday morning, stranding a school bus with the driver and students, as well as others traveling west from the village and Ocean Point. Firefighters were on scene to direct traffic and to keep motorists and residents away from the live wire.
A Central Maine Power crew was called to the scene. As of 8 a.m., traffic was still being rerouted.
