Thanks for the wonderful article by Jane Carpenter about Boothbay Region Food Pantry. We’ve already had calls from new volunteers, who will be a great help to us over the busy holiday season and during the year to come. 

However, one point needs to be clarified.Ms Carpenter made it clear that any resident of the Boothbay peninsula receiving SNAP benefits was eligible to be served by the Pantry, and that it is not the only requirementfor being a regular Pantry participant.If you are having trouble feeding your family, youare encouraged to call the number listed on the Pantry’s Facebook page to find out if youare eligible to sign up for monthly visits and to receive vouchers.  

Perhaps even more important is the fact that we are willing and able to provide food to anyone experiencing a food emergency. Just call that same number. 

 The Pantry is here to make sure that none of our neighbors goes hungry.
