I write to extend my great appreciation to the Boothbay Harbor board of selectmen, Town Manager Julia Latter and Chief of Police Doug Snyder for their efforts to rebuild the Boothbay Harbor Police Department.  These efforts have been evident, and were on full display at the jam-packed Windjammer's parade route.  Full-time and reserve officers from Boothbay Harbor were a very visible presence along with members of the Sheriff's Department. 

 

I also understand that a new contract with BHPD union members has been settled and I have been told that it has helped to make the BHPD a very competitive option for new candidates.

 

Thanks too should be extended to Lincoln County Sheriff Todd Brackett and the Sheriff's Department deputies who have provided so much support to the Harbor during this process, and is an ever-present and dependable partner in the region's public safety.

 

As a year-round resident, I am grateful for the BHPD and all that they do to keep the residents, businesses and visitors of the Harbor safe, and to the Town for supporting them.
