letter to the editor

Thank you public works, firemen

    Dear Editor:

I would like to take a moment to thank the guys from our public works department and firemen for all their help preparing the town for Boothbay Lights in conjunction with Gardens Aglow. Due to being shorthanded in public works for a while, important tasks such as paving, construction of basketball/pickleball courts and preparing for early snowfall took precedence over decorating the downtown. With only a week to go before Gardens Aglow opened, you may have seen guys up in the trees at the Library stringing Christmas lights in the bitter cold. Not only did they accomplish that but they decorated the footbridge, the Whale Park and the town office all in one week. The firemen assisted merchants with installing lights on their buildings through the support of the Minnehaha fund.

Thank you to everyone who works so hard to make the holiday season’s festivities a success. I know it’s a lot of work. I appreciate all that you do. The town looks great again this year!
